The Finance Committee meets three times a year to discuss the Council’s finances and to make a recommendation to the full Parish Council on the level of Precept for the following financial year. The Precept is the amount paid by each household in theParish to support the Parish Council in the work it undertakes. It is collected as part of each household’s Council Tax payment and paid to the Parish Council by Chelmsford City Council.
The Finance Committee also reviews the preparation of the Council’s monthly accounts, which are available to all residents at the mid-month Parish Council Meeting, and also the annual accounts which have to be audited by the Council’s external auditors.
The Parish Clerk is our Responsible Financial Officer and it is she who produces our monthly accounts.
